Comments Addon

Do you want your users to engage with your galleries in a more personal way?

The Comments Addon for Envira Gallery allows visitors to add comments to Gallery images, similar to adding comments to a Post.

All you need to get started is any of our paid license levels for Envira Gallery and activate the Comments addon.

Gallery Options

While editing your gallery, navigate to the Comments tab to begin enabling comments for your gallery.

You’ll find the following options when editing your galleries to help you further customize the comments panel.

  • Enable Commenting – Enables or disables commenting functionality on each image in the Lightbox view.
  • Comments panel visibility – This option controls whether the comments panel will appear automatically after opening an image in the lightbox or if the user has to click the comments button.
  • Display Comment Count – Enables or disables showing the comment count when users view an image in the lightbox.
  • Comments panel position – You can even adjust where the comments panel appears. By default, it is set to show to the right of the lightbox but you can also set it to display in the center of the screen.
  • Show Avatar – You can even toggle whether user avatars are displayed with their comments. This setting uses the Gravatar set up by the user, so for more details on adding a Gravatar, you can check out their site here.
  • Show Comments Count – When you open an image in the lightbox you’ll see the total number of comments for that image. This setting allows you to show or hide this information from users on the front end.
  • Allow Replies – This setting allows users to interact with each other by replying to other comments in your galleries.
  • Display Date – Show the date stamp for comments.

And that’s it! Now you’re ready to start accepting and viewing comments on your galleries.
