Google Permissions for OAuth

To create a Google Photos Gallery, you’ll need to connect a Google account to Envira Gallery. This connection grants the OAuth permissions needed to read and import the photos you select.

This guide details how each permission is used by the Google Photos Addon.

Note: depending on the Envira Gallery version and which Google integrations are active on your site, you may not see every permission listed here.

Google Photos (Selected Items, Read-Only)

Envira Gallery uses this permission for the Select photos from Google Photos workflow you’ll find when editing a gallery.

Clicking Select photos from Google Photos launches Google’s own picker interface. Pick the photos and videos you’d like to bring into your gallery, and only those selected items get passed to Envira Gallery. The rest of your library stays untouched.

Access is read-only and appears as “See selected photos and videos from Google Photos.”

Google Account Identification (Email Address)

Bundled into the standard “Sign in with Google” step, this permission shares the email address of the account you’re connecting with Envira Gallery.

Envira Gallery displays the email in the settings panel so connected accounts are easy to distinguish, handy if you’ve linked more than one. The addon supports up to three connected accounts at a time.

Because this is part of standard sign-in, you won’t see a dedicated checkbox for it on the consent screen.

How to Disconnect or Revoke Access

Revoke access at any time, either from within Envira Gallery’s settings or via your Google account. Both paths end the permission grant entirely.

From Envira Gallery:

  1. In your WordPress admin, go to Envira Gallery » Settings » Google Photos.
  2. Locate the connected Google account.
  3. Click Remove connection and stored data next to that account.

To clear every connected account in one step, click the Delete all Google Photos data button in the same panel. Uninstalling the Envira Gallery Google Photos Addon also removes all connection data.

From your Google account:

  1. Visit myaccount.google.com and sign in.
  2. Navigate to Linked apps and locate Envira Gallery.
  3. Click into it and remove access.
