Search Addon Settings

  • Enable Search — This option allows you to enable or disable the search functionality for your galleries. When enabled, visitors will see a search bar within the gallery.
  • Placeholder text — The Placeholder text field allows you to change the text displayed inside the search bar. By default, the placeholder text says “Search Images”. However, you can customize it to anything you want to better match your site.
  • Search by -This option defines the data the search function will use to search images. For example — You can search the image through Image Description. So when you search, it displays all of the images that match the description. You can choose to search images by:
    1. Tags — Allows users to find the images based on specific tags assigned to them. To activate the Tag addon, please follow this guide.
    2. Alt Text — Helps find images using the alternative text added to them.
    3. Image Description — This will find the images using the text written in the image description.
    4. EXIF Data — This will allow users to find images using details stored in the photo, such as Camera Model, Capture Time, Shutter Speed etc. To activate EXIF addon, please follow our guide here.
    5. Comments — Let users find images based on comments left on the images. For more details on the Comments addon, you can follow this guide.
Note: Enabling the Search addon hides the Tags addon options, disabling tag filtering. However, you can still search for images by assigned tags.
