Do the images you upload to WordPress appear flipped? Sometimes when you upload via your iPhone or another iOS device, the image will be displayed upside down. In this tutorial, we will show you how to fix flipped or upside down images in WordPress.
To fix flipped images in WordPress, all you need to do is follow these two simple steps:
- Step 1. Install and activate Image Rotation Fixer plugin
- Step 2. Install and activate iOS Image Fixer plugin

Step 1: Install and Activate Image Rotation Fixer Plugin
First thing you need to do is install and activate Image Rotation Fixer plugin. Simply go to Plugins » Add New and type Image Rotation Fixer in the search bar.
Click on the Install Now button, and then hit the Activate button.
Upon activation, this plugin will work with PHP’s Exif extension to automatically fix your flipped or upside down images. If you don’t have any clue what that means, don’t worry. You don’t need to configure any settings… it will just do its thing behind the scenes.

Step 2: Install and Activate iOS Image Fixer Plugin
This step is only necessary if you followed Step 1 and you are still having issues with your images appearing flipped.
To install the iOS Image Fixer plugin, go ahead to Plugins » Add New. In the search bar, type iOS Image Fixer, and it will be displayed below.
Simply click on the Install Now button and hit the blue Activate button.
This plugin works with ImageMagik and GD extensions to fix the EXIF metadata for your images. Go to Media » iOS Images Fixer. Then, click on the Fix All iOS-broken button. Thats it!
