Your best design work probably lives on Dribbble already. The problem is that your own website, the one clients actually land on when they search your name, often shows only some of it.

Keeping both up to date usually means exporting every shot, uploading it again to WordPress, and rebuilding the same gallery twice. That’s tedious enough that the site tends to fall behind.

You can skip all of that. Once your Dribbble account is connected to WordPress, you can pull your shots straight into a gallery that matches the rest of your site.

Below, I’ll walk you through the full setup, then share three ideas for where a Dribbble gallery works best on a designer’s or photographer’s site.

What You Need to Show Dribbble Shots on WordPress

I’ll be using Envira Gallery, the WordPress gallery plugin, because it has a Dribbble Addon built for exactly this job. Instead of copying files, it reads your public shots from Dribbble and turns them into a gallery on your site.

You’ll need these in place before you start:

  • An Envira Gallery Pro plan or higher. The Dribbble Addon comes with Pro and the Elite Bundle, not with Basic or Plus.
  • A Dribbble account with public shots. Envira can only see the shots you’ve published on your profile.
  • A few minutes in your WordPress dashboard. There’s no code involved at any point.

If you’ve never built a gallery with Envira before, our beginner’s guide to Envira Gallery covers the basics in more detail.

How to Display Dribbble Shots on Your WordPress Site

The whole setup has six parts. You’ll only connect your account once, so every Dribbble gallery after the first one is quicker.

Step 1: Activate the Dribbble Addon

In your WordPress dashboard, go to Envira Gallery » Addons and scroll to the Dribbble Addon card. Install it if you haven’t already, then click Activate so the status changes to Active.

If you need a hand with this part, our doc on installing and activating Envira addons walks through it.

Step 2: Connect Your Dribbble Account to WordPress

Next, head to Envira Gallery » Settings and open the Dribbble tab. Click the link that says Click here to Authenticate Your First Dribbble Account With Envira.

Envira Gallery Settings open on the Dribbble tab, showing Dribbble Authorization Setup and the link to authenticate your first Dribbble account

That link takes you to Dribbble, where you log in and click Authorize to approve the connection.

If you’re nervous about giving a plugin access to your account, this part should help. The addon only asks for Dribbble’s “public” permission, which is read-only access to your profile and public shots. Envira can display your work, but it can’t post, edit, or delete anything on Dribbble.

You can connect up to three Dribbble accounts this way. That’s handy if you run a personal profile and a studio profile side by side.

Now go to Envira Gallery » Add New Gallery and give your gallery a name. Above the gallery area, switch from Native Envira Gallery to the External Gallery tab, then click Dribbble.

If you skipped Step 2, you’ll see a box here with a green Click Here to Authenticate Envira with Dribbble button. It does the same job as the Settings link, so you can connect from either place.

With an account connected, the Gallery tab shows a Dribbble Settings panel. This is where you decide which shots show up and what happens when a visitor clicks one.

These are the settings you’ll use most:

  • Dribbble Account: picks which connected account the gallery pulls from.
  • Number of Dribbble Photos: sets how many shots to show. Video shots aren’t counted and get skipped.
  • Overriding Link?: opens shots in the lightbox, or sends visitors to the shot’s page on Dribbble or straight to the image.
  • Use Photo Title? and Limit Caption Length: show each shot’s Dribbble title as its caption, cut to the number of words you set.
  • Cache Data from Dribbble?: stores your Dribbble data so the gallery loads faster. Envira recommends leaving it on.

Once you set Overriding Link? to a Dribbble page or image, an Open In New Tab? box appears. I’d tick it so visitors don’t lose your site when they click through.

A Dribbble gallery gets the same tabs as any other Envira gallery. That means you can open Configuration to pick a layout and set your columns, then open Lightbox to choose how shots look when someone clicks.

This is the part Dribbble can’t give you. On Dribbble, your shots always sit in Dribbble’s own grid. On your site, you choose the layout that suits your work, whether that’s a tight grid for UI shots or a masonry-style layout for illustrations.

If you’re not sure which layout to pick, our guide to WordPress gallery layouts shows when each one works best.

Click Publish to save your gallery. Then open the page or post where you want it, add the Envira Gallery block, and search for your gallery by name.

Update the page and your Dribbble shots are live. Because the gallery reads from your Dribbble account, there’s no folder of exported files to keep track of.

For the full reference, including every field, see the Dribbble Addon documentation.

Put Your Dribbble Work on Your Own Site

Connect your Dribbble account and build a gallery from your public shots, with no downloading or re-uploading. The Dribbble Addon is included with Envira Gallery Pro and the Elite Bundle.

3 Ways to Use Dribbble Shots on Your WordPress Site

Once the gallery exists, you can place it anywhere a block can go. These are the three spots where I think it earns its place.

A Dribbble Portfolio Page

The obvious one is a dedicated Work or Portfolio page. Set a higher number of shots, pick a roomy layout, and leave Overriding Link? on the lightbox option so visitors stay on your site.

The lightbox matters more than it sounds. A prospective client can browse your shots in a lightbox without ever leaving your domain, which keeps your contact page one click away. Our lightbox guide covers the display options.

One thing to keep in mind is that there’s no setting to pick individual shots, because the gallery pulls them from your feed. If you want a tightly curated case study, a regular Envira gallery with uploaded images is the better fit, and the Dribbble gallery can sit below it as “more of my Dribbble work.”

A Dribbble Strip on Your Homepage

A homepage doesn’t need your whole archive. A second Dribbble gallery set to four or six shots makes a neat row of Dribbble shots under your intro.

Here I’d link the shots to their original page on Dribbble and turn on Open In New Tab?. People who like what they see can follow you there, and your homepage stays open behind them.

A Page for Studio or Client Dribbble Work

Because you can connect up to three accounts, you can keep personal and studio work apart. Each gallery has its own Dribbble Account setting, so one site can show several Dribbble profiles on separate pages.

That works well for a small studio that posts team work on a shared profile. It also suits a freelancer who keeps a separate account for one type of client work.

If Dribbble isn’t the only place you post, Envira’s External Gallery tab also has sources for Instagram, TikTok, and Google Photos. Each one has its own addon, so every feed can get its own gallery.

FAQs About Dribbble and WordPress

Can you embed Dribbble shots in WordPress without code?

Yes. With the Dribbble Addon for Envira Gallery, you connect your Dribbble account once and then create a gallery from your shots in the WordPress dashboard. You add it to a page with the Envira Gallery block, so there is no code to copy or edit.

Does Envira change anything on my Dribbble account?

No. The addon only asks for Dribbble’s “public” permission, which is read-only access to your profile and public shots. It can display your work on your site, but it cannot post, edit, or delete anything on Dribbble.

How many Dribbble accounts can I connect to WordPress?

You can connect up to three Dribbble accounts in Envira Gallery. Each Dribbble gallery has its own Dribbble Account setting, so you can show different profiles on different pages.

Can visitors click through to my Dribbble profile?

Yes. The Overriding Link? setting lets you open shots in the lightbox, link to each shot’s original page on Dribbble, or link straight to the image. If you link out, turning on Open In New Tab? keeps your site open in the visitor’s browser.

Showing your Dribbble work on your own site means clients see your Dribbble shots in a layout you chose, on a page that leads to your contact form. Be sure to check out our post on how to create a portfolio in WordPress.
