How to Add Fullscreen Image Galleries in WordPress

Do you want to display fullscreen image galleries on your site? You may need to show photos to your visitors that beautifully cover the whole screen. In this tutorial, we will teach you how to add fullscreen image galleries in WordPress.

We recommend you use a WordPress image gallery plugin like Envira Gallery. It allows your images to popup in a fullscreen gallery lightbox, so the photos look stunning on your website.

To add fullscreen image galleries in WordPress, you’ll need to follow these 5 steps:

• Step 1. Install and activate Envira Gallery plugin
• Step 2. Install and activate Envira’s Fullscreen Addon
• Step 3. Create a new image gallery in WordPress
• Step 4. Go to Lightbox tab and enable fullscreen view
• Step 5. Publish your fullscreen image gallery in WordPress

Step 1: Install and Activate Envira Gallery Plugin

The first thing that you need to do is install and activate Envira Gallery plugin on your WordPress site.

Step 2: Install and Activate Envira’s Fullscreen Addon

Upon activating the plugin, you need to go to Envira Gallery » Addons to install and activate Fullscreen Addon.

To access this addon, you must have Envira Pro license or higher. You should check out this guide on how to upgrade your license.

After activating the addon, go ahead and create an image gallery in WordPress.

Step 3: Create a New Image Gallery in WordPress

You need to go to Envira Gallery » Add New to add a new gallery. Simply give a title and drop the photos in the Native Envira Gallery section.

Step 4: Go to Lightbox Tab and Enable Fullscreen View

Once you have added the photos, simply scroll down to Lightbox tab and check mark Enable Fullscreen View.

This setting will extend your image gallery view to fullscreen of the computer.

Step 5: Publish Your Fullscreen Image Gallery in WordPress

When you are done with all the settings, go ahead and hit the Publish button. Copy the shortcode from Envira Gallery Code widget.

Now go to Pages/Posts » Add New or edit an existing page/post. In the visual editor of this page/post, you need to paste the shortcode of the fullscreen image gallery.

Make sure to click on the Update button.

That’s all. You can visit your site to see the fullscreen image gallery in WordPress that’ll look like the image below:
